Short Biography


Dr. Tohid Nouri is an Associate Professor and the Founder of the Department of Mining Engineering at the University of Mohaghegh Ardabili, Iran. He holds a Ph.D. (2016) and an M.Sc. (2010) in Mining Engineering (Exploration) from Tabriz University of Technology, and a  B.Sc. (2008) from Isfahan University of Technology. He was distinguished as an "Exceptional Talent" student during his graduate studies at Tabriz University of Technology.

Dr.Tohid Nouri's research focuses on the application of advanced geospatial technologies, including  hyperspectral and thermal remote sensing, and the integration of  RS & GIS for natural resource exploration. He conducted pivotal research as a visiting scholar at the Telecommunications and Remote Sensing Laboratory, University of Pavia, Italy (2014-2015).

In 2023, he spearheaded the establishment of the Mining Engineering Department at his home university, serving as its founderr and first head. He actively contributes to the scientific community as a peer reviewer for several prestigious journals, including IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing  and the International Journal of Remote Sensing.
