Dr. Hassan Khavarian Nehzak is an Associate Professor of Remote Sensing at the University of Mohaghegh Ardabili, Ardabil, Iran. His academic work focuses on remote sensing, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), geospatial analysis, and applying Earth observation technologies to environmental and natural-resource problems. He holds a Ph.D. in Remote Sensing from the University of Southampton, United Kingdom.

His teaching and research experience includes optical, thermal, and active/radar remote sensing; satellite-image processing and analysis; GIS and spatial analysis; environmental modelling; and remote sensing/GIS applications in natural resources and environmental studies. His research record includes work on satellite reflectance and land-surface albedo, land-surface temperature and urban thermal patterns, land-use/land-cover change, wildfire monitoring, soil salinity, water and soil resources, tourism planning, and geospatial decision-support approaches. He has also taught a broad range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in remote sensing, GIS, image processing, thermal and radar remote sensing, programming, spatial databases, and environmental modelling.
