Biography

Vahid Akrami is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Mohaghegh Ardabili. He received his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Urmia University in 2007. He then continued his studies, earning his M.Sc. in Earthquake Engineering from Sharif University of Technology in 2010 and his Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology in 2016. His primary research interests lie in Structural and Earthquake Engineering, focusing on the numerical modeling and behavior analysis of structures, structural system identification, and damage detection in structures. Some of the courses he has taught include Statics, Structural Analysis I & II, Principles of Earthquake and Wind Engineering, National Building Codes, Theory of Plates and Shells, and Inelastic Structural Analysis.

  • Member of the Technical Committee and Team for Developing the Earthquake Design Guidelines for Power Transmission Stations in Iran, Tavanir Company.
  • Member of the Technical Committee and Team for Developing the Earthquake Design Guidelines for Gas-Isolated Stations, Tavanir Company.
  • Member of the Technical-Specialized Working Group for Reviewing the Guidelines for Seismic Assessment and Rehabilitation of Gas Supply Systems (Publication 606).
  • Authored and translated two books in the field of earthquake design for power transmission stations.
  • Reviewed over 300 articles for 11 journals (9 WOS journals and 2 ISC journals).
  • Ranked in the 99th percentile of reviewers in the field of Civil Engineering-Structures in WOS rankings.
  • Published over 30 articles in reputable scientific journals and presented over 30 papers at prestigious national and international conferences.
