    Ph.D. Dissertation

Title: Bayesian Inference on the Reliability of the Stress–Strength Model

    Supervisor: Prof. Masoud Ganji

    Advisor: Dr. Behdad Mostafaei

Description: This dissertation focuses on the point and interval estimation of stress–strength reliability

P(X>Y) using a Bayesian approach. The proposed methods were applied to several real-world problems in medicine and engineering.

    M.Sc. Thesis

Title: A Method of Signal Detection for Random Fields Using Reproducing Kernel Hilbert Space (RKHS)

    Supervisor: Prof. Khalil Shafiei

    Advisor: Dr. Alireza Taheriyoun

Description: This thesis considers the problem of signal detection for scale–space random fields and constructs a test statistic for testing the null hypothesis of no signal versus the presence of a signal using Reproducing Kernel Hilbert Space (RKHS) methods. The covariance function of this random field was obtained and the corresponding RKHS constructed. Finally, the generalized likelihood ratio was derived, and it was shown that the global maximum of the image is a sufficient statistic for this test.
