Dr. Fahimeh Hooriabad Saboor is an Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Mohaghegh Ardabili, Iran. She earned her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering – Nanotechnology from the University of Tehran and completed a research sabbatical as a visiting scholar at the University of Nagasaki, Japan. Her research focuses on advanced materials, particularly metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) and nanocomposites, for environmental applications such as water purification and pollutant removal. Dr. Saboor has published extensively on MOF-based adsorbents, nanocomposite membranes, and microplastic separation. She is actively engaged in professional societies, serving as Vice President of the Iran Chapter of InterPore, Chair of the Membership Development Committee of the Iranian Society for Engineering Education, and representative of the Iranian Gas Engineering Society at her university. Her contributions have been recognized with several awards, including Second Researcher of the Faculty of Engineering (2024), First Place in Faculty Evaluation (2018), and top graduate distinctions for both her B.Sc. and M.Sc. studies.

She focuses on the design and synthesis of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) and nanocomposites for environmental applications, such as the removal of dyes, pollutants, and microplastics from water. She also investigates gas sensing using nanomaterials under specialized conditions, including low-temperature UV-assisted detection, as well as the development and optimization of nanocomposite membranes and materials for energy applications, including fuel cells and thermal management. In addition, Dr. Saboor works on process simulation and optimization, modeling chemical and environmental processes such as adsorption and biomass gasification to enhance efficiency and reduce energy consumption. She applies artificial intelligence and machine learning (ML) techniques in process engineering to predict process behavior, optimize operating conditions, and design sustainable and efficient systems. Across these domains, she has contributed to numerous high-impact publications and actively participates in professional societies, guiding research, mentoring students, and advancing scientific collaboration
